Feb...moved by a snow/sleet storm

"The Quarry"

This one I did while watching the storm news. I put the snow flakes in the sky...but put balls of sleet on them (not intentional).  The part that I thought would turn into a web, turned into construction barrels. The stone wall that I stacked on the lower right got more industrialized as I shaded it.













I haven't even finished this one below, but it looks like a whale breaching at this point. I put the rain tangles in there, as it was turning to sleet outside the window during this storm. The "river' under the leaf now makes me think of a whale.... Boy, I love how tangling twists and turns. Starts out with nothing in mind, then turns into something completely else. ...Love it!

Last Tangles done in 2014

These will be some of the last ones I do this year.... I'll add photos of more as I get them finished. Just love this hobby!!
These pieces are in my book (drawing book) that measures about approz 5" x 7".
This one I call "Seahorse"... used mom's chair coaster for the circle designs.... used ideas from my new book on The Art of Zentangles that I got for Christmas from my husband.

This one I used the 6" metal ruler and the tracing of three overlapped designs and then drew an "S" chape connecting two of the ends... I want to call this "Zentangles Rule!"

 This was done on a 2.5" x 3.5" Artist trading card (cream) although I always take the saturation way down to take out the color. I'm showing you what it looks like with the pencil lines still showing...

 Then here is the same card once the pencil has been erased.... much better I think. Love it... I find it's not important to fill in all the space (notice at the top).

This one I did while watching a British TV drama... Bletchley Circle. I must have subconciously put in the web (oh, what a tangled web we weave)... Maybe that's it's name!

After a visit to my daughter's in-laws (really, our friends) and showing Steve how easy it is to Zentangle, I let him put the strings in the space and this is what I created...

This is one I started in a small 3"x3" book of plain paper... silver edges. Lovely to abandon my work from...

 This one has gone through some name changes... I liked the river rocks pattern, so I decided to create a hand to help gather more rocks into it's bed... hence the name. This is the last one I created in 2014.

Done with a heavier pen- not sure I like the outside

 Love the inside of this one....

Squawk!

 I tried a heavier pen and not sure I like it for the whole thing... tried to do a lace border, but realized that I had a crooked top edge, so I added the waving strings.

 This inside isn't finished, but it's neat to show the stage that it goes through.
