Last Tangles done in 2014

These will be some of the last ones I do this year.... I'll add photos of more as I get them finished. Just love this hobby!!
These pieces are in my book (drawing book) that measures about approz 5" x 7".
This one I call "Seahorse"... used mom's chair coaster for the circle designs.... used ideas from my new book on The Art of Zentangles that I got for Christmas from my husband.

Seahorse

This one I used the 6" metal ruler and the tracing of three overlapped designs and then drew an "S" chape connecting two of the ends... I want to call this "Zentangles Rule!"
Zentangles Rule!
This was done on a 2.5" x 3.5" Artist trading card (cream) although I always take the saturation way down to take out the color. I'm showing you what it looks like with the pencil lines still showing...
Then here is the same card once the pencil has been erased.... much better I think. Love it... I find it's not important to fill in all the space (notice at the top).
"Reaching for the Sky"

Christmas Tree 2014

Three more... Two are revised from a draft on some paper...

This one I did while watching a British TV drama... Bletchley Circle. I must have subconciously put in the web (oh, what a tangled web we weave)... Maybe that's it's name!
"Oh, what a tangled web we weave, Mate"
After a visit to my daughter's in-laws (really, our friends) and showing Steve how easy it is to Zentangle, I let him put the strings in the space and this is what I created...
"Steve's Challenge"
This is one I started in a small 3"x3" book of plain paper... silver edges. Lovely to abandon my work from...
This one has gone through some name changes... I liked the river rocks pattern, so I decided to create a hand to help gather more rocks into it's bed... hence the name. This is the last one I created in 2014.

How to 'remove a stain"

I know, I know, the title doesn't seem to fit the blog, but wait! It does!!

I have this sweatshirt I really, really love. Ok. Call is sweatshirt denial, but I love it and the stain hasn't been able to come out and it's been there for quite a few washings (my hubby does the laundry), so I solved my stain problem...

Taa Daaah!

New Weekly Challenge for Zentangles

I belong to a group called Lines and Designs... Someone posted there was to be a challenge on this blog for those of us who like Zentangles. If you'd like to take part, go to this link.

2nd Art Abandonment

I released this one into the wild at Ct Children's Medical Center's 4th floor waiting room (G). Hope someone enjoys it...

Latest, before Christmas rush....

On our Art Abandonment site there was a December challenge to make something with a star... Here it is.
This is the finished tree that I did from Paul Briggs photo from his trip to CA. (below is a cutout of his tree)

My Christmas card design for Carol...First commissioned design. $25.00
Ode to Tigger.... this I did when we put down our tiger cat....

This was just to show Morgan (granddaughter) how easy it is to make Zentangles....

This is what I did with that initial design.

Art Abandonment Site

I recently saw a post from a friend (on FB) regarding her "abandoning a piece of her art" and a reference to the site, www.facebook.com/groups/ArtAbandonment. I checked it out and realized how wonderful this site is.... I love doing random acts of kindness in general, so this was perfect!

I'm releasing some of my work (printed on business card size to start) into the wild. The first abandonments went to the Christmas Seasonal Sharing families that our church sends groceries to during the holidays.

I have more that I'll be posting (you're supposed to do it secretly and photograph when it's been left), and hope that whoever finds it let's us know the fate of my art.

Here's the Rest of the cut-out cards from Janice

Blowfish
The first photo of each card is the outside... then open it to reveal the inside design.

Coral

Hedda Get Betta

Heartstrings

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Save me from the nets!!

Side car

Life in the Sea

Life in the Garden

Done with a heavier pen- not sure I like the outside
Love the inside of this one....
Squawk!
I tried a heavier pen and not sure I like it for the whole thing... tried to do a lace border, but realized that I had a crooked top edge, so I added the waving strings.
Roman Chariot

Baby Buggy
This one hasn't gotten an outside done yet... This is what shows through from the inside.
This inside isn't finished, but it's neat to show the stage that it goes through.

Okay, it's finished!
 "Sailing on the Ocean Blue"

Inside of the card..... I really loved how the shading came out.
